i've been chatting to the jws the past couple of weeks.the last time they called they showed me a video about a scientist who claimed that she had once been an atheist, but after studying with the jws she had changed her mind and now believed in an intelligent creator.
what had convinced her was the process that activates the functioning of the lungs just after a baby has been born.after we had watched the video, the jws said that there are many people who believe that creation indicates an intelligent designer.in reply i asked them what they thought about the 'unintelligent' aspects of creation and i went into a few examples.at first they tried to write things off to imperfection due to adamic sin, but as the conversation went on they slowly realised that arguing 'imperfection' wasn't an adequate explanation for the points i was making.to cut a long story short, i ended up sending them a video via email where professor dawkins comments on an autopsy that highlights the impracticality of the laryngeal nerve in giraffes.i also sent them evidence of vestigial limbs in whales and a short article about biological atavism.in addition, i sent them an article that coincidentally was on the bbc news a few days ago about a boy in india who had a 7 inch vestigial tail removed.
here is the article i sent them:-http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3823461/the-teenager-7-inch-tail-18-year-old-finally-growth-removed-painful-sit-sleep.htmli'm really looking forward to seeing what they will come back with.

i haven't been on for quite some time, but i was wondering if you could dispel this for me.

there's also video of him in which a woman claims to have been visually impaired and was healed.
I don't know anything about this guy specifically, but he looks exactly like every other faith healer out there who preys on people. People with nebulous issues like "chronic back pain" can gain significant relief just from the placebo effect, only for the pain to return days later. For the more serious cases--people confined to wheelchairs or needing crutches--they're usually (always?) fakes planted in the crowd.
Charlatans like Benny Hinn can get caught defrauding people then turn up a year later and still rake in millions of dollars.
Show me a faith healer who can restore an amputated limb and I'll be impressed.
if he get pass this, america deserve him...... conversation 10 years ago..
Pence is abhorrent. He was one of the leaders of the government shutdown, which cost billions of dollars--a tantrum because they lost the ACA vote. He signed a law requiring women to hold funerals for aborted fetuses. He's a science/evolution/climate denier who says smoking isn't harmful.

i’ve noticed many people posting on this site seem to have completely given up on religion/spirituality.. but some have attended services at another religion, or just follow their own heart regarding what to believe.. my question is how does anyone deal after leaving with all of the witness crap that we believed about babylon the great, the great harlot, spiritual prostitute, etc., etc.
i’m finding out that i seem to have built myself a pretty solid wall regarding religion.. some people can just chuck all beliefs into one basket saying that they are all basically garbage,,, and that is ok, no problem i respect that.. but for myself there is a certain part of my personality that needs a spiritual belief not like the witnesses in any way, but something to meditate on, and contemplate.. being a witness taught me how bad it is to actually think of god in any other way besides what the jw’s believe.
and now when i attend any other service, the dark jw side seems to pop out and seriously makes me believe that everything i see/do/say is wrong.
I got it a bit backwards, but my process went something like...
Well, now I know JWs aren't the correct religion, so I need to find the right one...
Which Christian religion is is?.....
Is it a Christian religion?...
Is there a "one true religion"?
Does God even want and/or need to be worshiped?
Does God even exist?
I would have saved myself years if I asked the last question first.

It's hilarious to me that Jeb Bush spent 100 million dollars on opposition research during the primaries, and his dimwit cousin Billy Bush is the guy on the bus with Trump in that tape.

Ted Cruz is getting exactly what he deserves.

James Mixon - The movie "How we pulled the wool over the American public".
Mel Brooks made this movie 45 years ago. "The Producers" is about two play producers who plan to drastically oversell a play, with plans for it to flop, and run off with the backers' money. Despite their best efforts, the play is a huge success.
this is the one thing that i have struggled with since leaving the organization.
i recognize the need and value of belonging somewhere, being a part of something, showing up weekly to a community where me and my husband and children are loved and utilized and incorporated and cared for.
a place where are my kids qualities are nurtured and encouraged , and then reigned in and developed when needed.
I've never gone to one of their services, but many people I've spoken to recommend Unitarian Universalism for non-religious people looking for spirituality and/or community.
a recent o.p origins of the universe bought home to me with ovbious clarity that i have no scientific background.
this realization was rather embarrassing for myself to admit, particularly as my child of 11 has began asking some rather intersting questions on scientific matters.
anyway i have subscribed to " scientific america" because i find it a great magazine for those with no scientific background.
+1 for Khan Academy. Anyone with school-aged children should have it as their homepage. Or at least bookmarked

the singularity" redirects here.
for other uses, see singularity (disambiguation).the technological singularity (also, simply, the singularity)[1][2] is the hypothesis that the invention of artificial superintelligence will abruptly trigger runaway technological growth, resulting in unfathomable changes to human civilization.
computer simulation universes like ours
I like how this is now just an accepted fact.
